Ruth Allen White graduated from East Carolina University in 1925 when it was still East Carolina Teacher’s College. She spent 22 years working at ECU, first as a hall counselor, then as the Assistant Dean of Women and finally, as Dean of Women. In 1967, two years before her retirement, a newly built, all-female residence hall was named to honor White’s achievements and dedication to the University. Now, more than 40 years later, White Hall is undergoing major renovations.
Repairs began to the bedrooms and bathrooms of the 10-story residence hall in 2013 and 2014. Sunbelt Rentals was called upon to work on the next phase of the project: a new exterior. Scaffolds assembled, Sunbelt called long-time supplier Strong Man to provide our D-12 Fire Retardant Scaffold Wrap. For this job, the heavy-duty wrap encloses the scaffolding around the entire building, providing super-strong jobsite protection for workers and pedestrians.
Strong Man and Sunbelt Rentals have been working together for many years, and this isn’t the first university project we’ve tackled. Kyle Carlson, head of business development and estimator at Sunbelt, uses his construction expertise to find the right tools and equipment for each Sunbelt job. That’s where Strong Man comes in. Our two fully-stocked warehouses make it easy to find and order high-quality safety equipment. We take pride in offering excellent customer service and helping everyone find the perfect equipment for their specific job.
White Hall is expected to re-open in Fall 2016, and we’re excited to see Sunbelt’s work. We know they will do a phenomenal job on the exterior and we look forward to working on more projects with them in the future.
