Choosing the right debris netting is all about three things: location, location, location.
Professionals know that they would never use the same debris netting in an area where a project involved small materials like sand or rocks versus one installing brick because it just wouldn’t make sense. The purpose behind debris netting is safety and protection— safety to workers and protection for anyone who happens to be walking by a worksite. As our name implies, we’re fans of being safe on the job. The biggest question to ask when looking for debris netting is: From what are you protecting the outside area? The type of debris that is being prevented from escaping needs to be well identified.
When choosing debris netting, we recommend the following:
- Use fasteners that are UV treated so they match the netting—There’s no point having netting that lasts if your fasteners don’t hold up.
- Check to be sure your products are meeting all OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines for the particular circumstance. (By the way, all of Strong Man’s products do!)
- Always go for fire retardant products. Regardless of season, sparks can fly or a heater can get too hot and fires can start.
Different situations call for different tarps. Your job is to make the best calls for your company. Not sure what you need? Ask us. Strong Man can get you there.
