What does the collapse of oil and gas prices have to do with safety netting? Quite a lot, according to an online July 2015 Bloomberg report.
While energy companies have drastically tapered investment in oil and down hole construction, many of those same companies are turning around and investing in new plants that will “…refine oil and natural gas into other products,” according to Joe Carson, director of global economic research at Alliance Bernstein LP in New York. In fact, Bloomberg reports that investment in factory structures is experiencing the strongest growth since 1958.
See the connection? An explosion in factory construction means an ongoing need for everything from Strong Man’s safety debris netting (such as our popular SBN-22 and SBN-427 PVC-coated debris netting) to our Raven VaporBlock® underslab moisture and gas barrier to our Conkure™ Wet Curing Blanket.
We’d have to agree with Carson that, “The energy renaissance [has] triggered a manufacturing revival.” Just know that Strong Man Safety Products will be there, keeping workers and pedestrians safe, and buildings protected, every step of the way.
