Tarps Can Reduce Heating Costs While Protecting Workers and Equipment From Rain, Snow and High Winds
Fairfield, NJ (November 16, 2004) – Strong Man Building Products Corp., a market leader in weather and debris enclosures, announces that its winter protection tarps and enclosures help scaffold and contracting companies save valuable time and operational costs during cold weather. Constructed with high quality materials, Strong Man’s winter tarps can help manage heating costs, while continuing to protect employees and service equipment from harsh winds and precipitation.
By simply installing Strong Man’s winter tarps to a building or construction area, general contractors can reduce heating costs. These savings are created by the tarps’ high quality construction that keeps heat within the enclosure. Heat can more easily escape enclosures that utilize tarps with less tensile strength.
Additionally, the same tarps provide safer working conditions by blocking rain, snow and high winds from work sites. This decreases injuries, which can consequently lower a company’s insurance premium – and increase worker morale. Another benefit is that Strong Man winter tarps protect service equipment and machinery in extreme weather, diminishing typical replacement and maintenance fees.
“Strong Man enclosures allow work to continue undisturbed, by blocking undesirable weather, preventing it from adversely affecting projects,” said Jay Kinder, president of Strong Man. “The weather tarps and enclosures provide contractors, distributors and purchasing professionals with freedom from worry by being delivered on time and delivering high performance. These factors help keep projects on schedule.”
Strong Man’s 10×10 woven reinforced poly tarp is constructed from a heavy duty woven poly, with rope in its hem. Rust-proof grommets run down the middle, while it only weights 4.5 oz. per square yard.
For jobs requiring stronger flame-retardant woven reinforced poly tarps, Strong Man also provides the Super FR tarps, with a 14×14 weave. Made from an ultra-strong poly weave, and built to outlast and outperform in the harshest weather, the Super FR tarp combines high tensile strength with flame-retardant weather protection. The Super FR tarps make use of rust-proof grommets down the middle of the tarp and “D-Rings” with webbing attached to a four-inch heavy duty hem.
Complementing Strong Man’s woven poly tarps is their heaviest duty tarp, Mighty Tarp. The Mighty Tarp provides dependable high wind protection, making it ideal for high rise construction. It is made from flame-retardant 18-ounce reinforced PVC and employs grommets across the middle. The Mighty Tarp has a 4-inch hem, and “D-Rings” with crisscross webbing.
